UPDATES: The Reconstruction of the Bejuco to Sora road has begun.

The contracted company, Almacenadora Nacional, S.A., is begining with the reconstruction of the Bejuco-Sora Road.
As a start, some material and heavyduty equipment, that will be used for the job, can already be found in the area.
You can allready see some tracktors working on the road.
With this new project from the National Government, we hope to have an excellent road for the benefit of our project and communities in the Sora area.

Order to Proceed with the Bejuco-Sora road.

On December 27th of 2006, the order was delivered to the company Almacenadora Nacional, S.A. to proceed with the rehabilitation of the Bejuco-Sora road.
The Panamanian Public Works Department requested bids for the rehabilitation of the Bejuco-Sora road and the contract was given to a Panamanian company, Almacenadora Nacional, S.A., for the amount of US$ 2,249,887.50.
Meanwhile, Altos del Maria Administration has started the repair program on the Bejuco-Sora road. The road was turned into a obstacle course because of the weather. We appreciate your understanding of this inconvenience.

The rebuilding of the sales office has entered the final phase of construction and should be completed in December 2006. We?ll keep you posted and we?re all looking forward to another Altos del Maria inauguration shinding.

Government Rehabilitation Program for the Sora road at District of Chame

The National Government through the Public Works Ministry (MOP) will rehabilitate the road that joins the Pan-American Highway with Sora and Bejuco in the district of Chame, province of Panama. The work will improve integrally the roads of the municipality and will increase tourism potential.
The execution of this project will benefit next to ten thousand inhabitants of Chame. The public bids were realized recently by the MOP with an official budget of 2.2 million dollars.
The bids were as follows: Corporation M&S International of 3 million 391 thousand 984 dollars; Almacenadora Nacional, 2 million 249 thousand 887 dollars with 50 cents; Professional Consultants of Engineering(COTREADS) 3 million 903 thousand, 716 dollars with 25 cents and Urban Constructor, S.A. (CUSA) 2, million 688 thousand dollars.
The project contemplates the construction of a new paved surface including v-gutters, agregate base, asphalt prime seal & double seal and stripping the road.
