Altos de Vistamares, S.A. Real Estate Division of Grupo MELO was created in 1980. Its purpose is to develop and sell lots in cool weather mountain areas.
The largest project developed by the company to date is Los Altos de Cerro Azul, located only 45 minutes from Panama City , within the limits of Chagres National Park.
Concerned about the protection of the environment and as a custodian of the park, Grupo MELO created a sizable country housing development complex bordering this natural park.
To date, over 1,900 lots have been sold, of which more than 600 have homes, according to the last census.
In 1994 the Division initiated the sale of the Aires del Gaital project in El Valle de Anton, a mountain resort community well known for its eco-tourist attractions and cool climate. A total of 119 lots were sold in a relatively short time, a fact that indicates the level of confidence generated by the company's previous projects.
In 1995, after a number of location and environment impact studies, the company started a new country-style residential project called Altos del Maria.
